For CACRT members who wish to
respond directly to community crises, the CACRT will
provide periodic training consisting of a 24-hour
basic training session, a 24-hour advanced
session, and in-service training sessions. Active
CACRT teams members must have completed the basic
training session prior to volunteer service
on-site.
The Education &
Training Committee Chair will keep records of all
training attendees and will provide certificates of
accomplishment upon the completion of any course of
training.
Members of the CACRT who
respond on-site must be prepared to provide some
education to local caregivers, the media and others
during the response, so it will be the responsibility
of the Education & Training Committee to conduct at
least one brief public speaking course each
year.
The Education &
Training Committee Chair will coordinate all required
training sessions, using a training curricula reviewed
and approved by the Governing Board.
Members of the general
public and CACRT members who do not perform on-site
response are welcome to attend in-service training
sessions.
The Education &
Training Committee may, as needed, charge a fee to
non-CACRT members for in-service trainings to cover
administrative costs of the training. CACRT members
will not be charged a fee for regular in-service
sessions, but may be charged a small fee for special
in-service sessions.
The Education &
Training Committee will provide general educational
presentations yearly to members of the general public
regarding the effects of trauma on individuals and the
community and the services offered by the CACRT. For
more information about these quarterly training
opportunities, please see the CACRT calendar.
